10 life Saving Baby Products Mums can find on Jumia.

Every mum want what's best for their babies. In recent times, online shopping from the U.S and the U.K have become a norm, not because we want to compete with one another or because there are no other countries manufacturing baby products, simply put it that we all want quality products for our little ones and we as individuals know the standard we are looking for, hence the search for the best quality when it comes to our newborn.

In light of the present economic situation, its becoming increasingly difficult for mums to keep up with online purchase from overseas, considering the cost of shipping, foreign exchange rate and other factors. As a matter of fact, very few online stores in the U.S allow Nigerian IP address,so shopping online from overseas is proving more difficult especially for those who are used to this life style.

The good news is, you can get these quality brands here in Nigeria, without thinking of exchange rate, shipping hassle, or waiting too long for the delivery. Online stores in Nigeria such as JUMIA and KONGA carry all the great brands you need for your baby at affordable prices too.

From my research, there are a thousand and one baby brands you can shop online here in Nigeria. But I have put together 10 of the things I know every new mum should buy for their baby.

We all know that not every mum will eventually use a breast pad, but for those mums who produce excessive milk, and wouldn't want any stain on their cloth due to a full breast, the Avent Breast Pad is a great nursing pad, It is tested, trusted and also affordable. You can find it in baby stores, and for convenience, you can always buy it online.

The Avent Manual Breast Pump is one thing you should consider even before you have your baby , because most mums do not get their milk in immediately the baby is born, also some babies do not latch on the nipples properly and no mum wants to keep her baby hungry. So I strongly recommend this breast pump for all new mums. You can use it to pump milk for later use, maybe while you are out with baby and you don't want everyone looking at your mammary gland.

Another mummy's best product is the Tomee Tipee Electric Sterilizer, this is  a life saver. Easy to use, and you can trust that your baby's bottles are well sterilized especially the tits. You no longer have to go to Alade Market or Dosunmu Market to get this, its sold online, and you can shop for the best prices at your convenience.

If you plan on using the Tommee Tipee  Sterilizer, then its only logical to buy the Tommee Tippee Bottles for your little one. Because other brand do not fit into the Tommee Tippee sterilizer. This is a great product, very affordable, and pretty too. It comes in blue, pink and clear coloured bottles.
I know alot of people will either use Huggies or Pampers Diapers only, but trust me there are so many other diaper brands out there, that do just as fine if not better than these two popular brands. As a mum, I have used the Asda Little Angels Diaper for both of my children, and its wonderful. Like so many of you, I usually stock up on this when I travel on holiday to the UK, and once I run out of my stock pile, I retreat back to Huggies. Back then, no one was selling the Asda Little Angels Diaper in Nigeria. But fortunately for mums with babies still in diaper, you can shop this diaper on Jumia, and its quiet pocket friendly.

For babies 7 months and above, the Tommee Tipee Explora Training Cup is a great choice for starters. There so many brand of training cups out there, but this is tested and trusted. Some mums love to start with the sippy cups first, but no matter what you want to try, this is a great way to get your little one started with drinking from a cup, and you know what, you don't have to worry about how to get it in Nigeria, it can be shipped to your location and you can pay on delivery.

So this is a big mummy secret I'm about to let out, once your baby starts eating all those creamy porridge and cereal or blended home cooked meals, the cotton bibs will no longer be enough to hold the spill from their mouth, you need the Philip Bib  or the Tommee Tippee bib. These are plastic bibs and can hold any texture of food, without you worrying about it being soiled. Once you are done feeding your little one dip the bib into soapy water, and  its clean again.

For mums who love organic food, this is for you. This is a really cool food processor. Just get the food you want in it , and follow the instructions in the manual. Avent Food Steamer

When babies are about 3 weeks old, you need to keep them entertained. Start with a  Fisher Price Baby Rocker There are so many rockers you can choose from , but make sure you get one with sound and mirrors because babies love to see themselves in a mirror. Check Jumia or Konga for your preferred baby rocker. They sell for as low as N15,000 depending on the brand you are buying.

Have you ever heard of tummy time? That is when babies learn to lift up their head from the floor. The Mother Care Play Mat is great for tummy time, because its got a lot of fibre to cushion your baby. Babies can learn to grab using the play mat, and also progress into rolling to their side on the play mat. The mother care play mat is a great way for mummy-baby-bonding/play time, and this can also help mummy to keep the baby busy, while mummy is doing some other stuff with baby within reach.

Here you have it mummys, you dont always have to worry about the exchange rate when it comes to getting quality affordable baby products. Just as we know that there are so many fake out there, most online stores sell original branded products with an option to return it  before you pay for them.

Let me know if you found this post useful.

Kim Kardashian swears by this Spanx trick made by Sara Blakely.

According to dailymail.uk, Kim Kardashian recently revealed that she doubles up her Spanx when she feels heavier. Femail a popular female column in dailymail has asked Louise Parker a blogger to spend a day living like Kim, by wearing double of the Sara Blakely Spanx.

Louise wearing her spanx underneath her black dress.

We all know the whole world loves Kim, and everything she wears or endorses becomes an instant hit, so when Kim shared the secret behind her famous hour glass curves, which is wearing two pairs of Spanx under her figure hugging dresses, it  became necessary for femail to try it out.

Speaking about the experiment, Louise said " I instantly felt very sucked in", but not in a comfortable way at all-It all felt very restrictive. Im guessing Kim isn't working a 9-5 job when she's wearing hers...

According to the brand owner, Sara Blakely recently told Stella magazine that Kim's trick is not necessary, but she has a lot of respect for women who go there.

The product is sold on Veryexclusive.co.uk for E60 descriped as shape My Day High Wasted Mild Thigh, it comes in black and natural colours

Women, please dont kill yourself in the name of fashion. Those internal organs need to move freely from time to time. (This advise applies to me too).

Head over to dailymail to read the complete story.

Nigerian Airline Review- My Medview Airline Experience

By now you already know that we don't have a single national carrier, our famous Nigerian Airways and Virgin Nigeria are no more, we are left with the privately owned airlines that are managing to survive function within the Nigerian Aviation Industry.

Every single airline operating in this country has one big problem or the other, some have problems of regular delays, some have problems of being overbooked, some have problems of misplacing people's luggage, some have history of plane crash, some even have problems such as leakages in the aircraft, while for so many of them, one constant burden they share is doing business in the  Nigerian terrain, which is extremely harsh at this time for obvious economic  reasons we have discussed on this blog a couple of times.

Today, I'll be sharing my experience on Medview Airlines with you all. I know we all have our airline stories, and we have heard the worst about some airlines , yet we find people patronizing them, but hey! what can we do? In a country of the blind, the guy with one eye is the king. So here goes my story;

By now, I would consider myself a frequent flyer on Medview Airline, having flown with them on 4 different occassions within one year and mind you these four trips weren't one way trip, they were all return trip, so I would say I have sat on a Medview Aircraft 8 good times. Why do I always buy their ticket? Its simply because I thought they were better than other airlines flying from Lagos to my destination at different times, coupled with the fact that as a ticket junkie that I am, I have previously bought a Medview return ticket from Lagos to Abuja for 2 of my friends who later told me they enjoyed their flights and as such will never fly on Arik Air based of their individual experiences on Arik. Also Medview was cheaper(at that time) and always on time, So that was how my air-lashionship journey blossomed with Medview.

My first flight to Abuja in Dec 2015 on Medview was so perfect, right on schedule for departure and arrival, cabin crew were friendly and courteous, the Captain communicated at every point there was turbulence to assure us all was well, landing was great too, and not forgetting at that time, the ticket fee was about N30,000 cheaper than most airlines (Arik to be precise). From that moment on, if any one called me to say Abi, I need a ticket to A,B,C, the next thing you see in your mail is a Medview Ticket Confirmation, except they dont fly that route. Infact at a point I became a free of charge- word of mouth Medview Airline Ambassador, because I trusted them so much to deliver.

In February, after helping 2 family members to successfully purchase their tickets to different destinations on Medview, I was on the plane to Ghana, read about my Ghana trip here, if you missed it, I had no complain whatsoever on this trip, it was again, just like my first experience. Checked in online, getting the physical boarding pass at their Airport desk was a very easy process, no delays, everything was great as usual.

Fast forward to July, my third time on Medview, Lagos- Abuja was great, then time to come back to lagos was 4.45pm out of Abuja. After sitting in the hot Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport for close to an hour, then this familiar voice from the speakers said "attention please, Medview Airline flight ABC is experiencing some delays, therefore the flight will be rescheduled to 6pm". Hell no! not my favourite airline, delayed ke? How can it be delayed and they are just communicating this to us at 5.30pm, anyways to cut the long story short, it was delayed on that day and we ended up leaving Abuja at the time announced instead of the actual 4.45pm we were supposed to leave.

On this day I was with my colleagues that I had earlier persuaded to fly Medview for the first time telling them that they wont experience any flight delays like they had previously complained about when it comes to other airlines. To my surprise, Arik Airline didnt have their usual delays on that day, and so right before our very eyes, their passengers boarded and took off, leaving me to take the blame for Medview from my colleagues. But because I never had this experience with them on previous flights, I was able to  convince my colleagues that it was a one off thing and It I knew it wouldnt happen again. (Atleast I saved my face).

Upon arrival in Lagos, I was facebooking on my way home from MMA 2 and stumbled on a post where a lady was complaining about her London-Lagos Medview experience, trust me, madam review, I quickly commented  to say, it must have been a one off thing that Medview is a very good airline blablabla. Then,I read other comments on her post and it wasn't so good as well, so I started wondering if my experience on Medview Airline so far has been a perculiar one, if others are saying something different about them, how come i'm one of the few that feels differently? I waived the post aside and concluded it must have been on their international route, after all Iberia Airline too showed me shege on an international route once (story for another day), so its no big deal. My people dont mind British Airways when they say, they own Iberia Airline oo,  the service they provide on both airlines are world apart. If you are a frequent flyer on BA and you think oh I can combine my avios using their cheaper alternative (Iberia) Oh my God! you are on your own, thankfully they dont fly from Nigeria anymore, so thats a blessing. Note to self -stick to BA next time :(

Anyways, don't let me digress. Back to my Medview Airline experience. So yesterday I was out on another official trip, and yes I flew Medview Airlines to Abuja on the 7am flight which was really cool, I slept all through because I was upset I got to sit just before the toilet door as the flight was full, where as people that checked in after me got to sit in front ooo, I guess the guy at the check in counter  didnt like my swollen-sleepy face thats why he thought sit 20A was beffitting. But wait a minute guys, we are really suffering in Lagos oo, how can Abuja be fine and so serene like that, yeah we know they are just a stone throw from boko haram and all that, but haba, that's a good place to be in Nigeria. The Federal Capital Territory, just has a way of making me forget all my worries for some hours, before my true life kicks in again!. Whoops! back to reality, On my return flight to Lagos from Abuja, Medview performed their trick again. Flight cancelled till 6.10pm. This got me really upset as I didnt have a back up plan for who to stay with my kids in Lagos from 7pm, since their Nanny had to close early to attend to her family too, and Hubby was stuck in Lagos traffic.Anyways,as per naija mum, plan B kicked in instantly!

At 6.10pm, we were called to start boarding, come and see rushing, this time I had managed to get a seat not too close to the toilet but way back at the same time, only to hear that it was free sitting, meaning too many passengers on ground, so first to enter na im go go Lagos. With my bag of Kilishi(dry juicy northern meat) and Dambu(No english translation, sorry :) in one hand and my bag in the other hand, I walked as fast as  I could, once I got off the shuttle bus to the plane,in order not to be left behind in Abuja. The great part was everyone got a place to sit at the end of the day, but this plane toured the airport for 30 mins before finally talking off. We got into Lagos about 8pm, instead of the initial 5.55pm schedule we were all booked for.

If its once, its a mistake, if its twice, then its not a coincidence. To keep that reputation, and to win more customers through me, I would say that Medview Airline needs to go back to the drawing board to see where they missed it. You can not afford to join them, you have to beat them, the competition is stiff and repeat customers like many of us, do not like time wasters. In addition it is sad that on those two occassions that I experienced delays, The Captain did not deem it fit to apologise for the delays. It has become a norm, and as such no longer considered a big deal despite  inconveniecing  people.

If a Medview staff/management is reading this, please do something about your frequent flight delays, I personally would like to fly on Medview again, because the aircraft is clean and the pilots know their job.I feel safe on a Medview flight, so kindly look into the root of these delays.

By the way, I heard Arik has improved too, I need to read more positive reviews about them first, then I may patronize them and start recommending them. Or what do you think?

Five Ways To Earn Extra Income In This Reccession.

Reality has set in for a lot of people, and yes no one is asking if Nigeria is going to be in recession anymore, the new song everyone is singing iswhen and how do we get out of this recession.
For business men and women within the Nigerian society, they are gradually adjusting their businesses according to the direction of the recession. You will be suprised to learn that some businesses are making huge profit from the present economy due to their previous business forecast which has turned to be financially rewarding for them in the present economy.

While some businesses are shutting down daily, so many salary earners are having the worst times of their lifes, which can be attributed to the fact that so many cases look hopeless in the face of the recession. Nigeria is not the first country to experience recession, but in truth we are badly hit by the recession because our economy is solely dependent on Oil and the dollar drives a major aspect of our economy.

I've seen so many people complain of hardship in this present times, and how difficult it is to cope, but today, I will be sharing with you tips on how to survive at this crucial time if you live in Nigeria or any other country where a high percentage of the citizens live from hand to mouth.

That said, here are 5 ways to stay afloat and earn extra income while you still have a job or a business you run or even if you are totally jobless at the moment.

Start Blogging

There are a zillion and one bloggers in the world today, but what makes them different from each other is their style and niche they have created for themselves. Blogging is not as easy as many people may think, it takes a lot of thinking and alot of research to be a great blogger. But if you are that person that spends virtually3-4 hours of your time online getting relevant information or just loving the glitz and glamour of social media, then you should consider starting your own blog to make some money for yourself.

Starting a blog is as easy as 1,2,3. All you need to do is have an internet access, a laptop, choose a free blogging site like Blogger or Wordpress  for starters, or you may choose to purchase your own domain name and pay annually for hosting.

Once you get started, choose your niche and start creating amazing contents for your readers. The great thing about blogging is, there is always an audience for what ever you want to discuss. People are ready to read and learn, so be that person impacting knowledge to the world.

Bloggers make money from a variety of sources, it could be through a sponsored post, direct advertisement, affiliate programmes, google adsense, sponsorship and a whole lot of other ways, depending on how determined you are and how connected you are to your audience.

Advertise your Products or Services Free on Social Media

Just like a blogger uses their blog to express themselves and make money, you can also make money from your social media page. People are making a lot on money advertizing their products and services on all social media platforms. Dont look at social media like a fun place to just make friends only. Some people started their businesses on Instagram and Facebook and have become store owners today starting with this medium. Your ability to convince people that your product is great depends on you and your repeat customers, who in turn helps you to promote your business on their own social media handles. These days, the best form of advertisement are free! No matter how little your business is, believe me all you need to do is trust what you have and sell it to the world.

Sell Your Own Information Product

If you are a guru in a particular field, please dont keep all this knowledge to yourself. There are thousands of people out there who want to learn what you know. Connect with your audience online and through word of mouth . You can create an e-book or you-tube videos. post online and by doing so you are selling valuable information on a specific thing you know so well, that will in-turn  help the next person, Alot of people make money from e-books and youtube videos in Nigeria. just google Nigerians making money on youtube and you will be amazed at how much money your knowledge or talent can bring you.

Join a Review / Survey Website

I know that review and survey doesnt really have an online presence in Nigeria, but all the same you can still make money from review/survey websites abroad. All you need is a paypal account to get your money paid into. Please note that there are alot of scams out there, so it is very important to research about the website before you join. Some people have products they want people to review for them for a fee. Although you may never make millions of money from this, but atleast its a good way to earn a few $100 s from time to time.

Content Writter

If you love to write and all you do is write short pieces and keep in your journal, now is the time to connect to websites such as  Funds for Writers, harness your writting skills and you could be making as low as $50 which is approximately about N16,000 if not more for just a write up. You could also write for other bloggers, magazines and newspapers and you get paid fast.

Please note that you can do any of these at your own time, and earn extra income. Rather than sitting down hopelessly and doing nothing to change or improve your present situation, these are fantastic ways to have a side hustle that wouldnt require you to spend your savings.

So goodluck!

Lets Talk TV Soaps! Are you Watching The Governor On Ebony Life TV?

Oh Lawwwd, if you have not been watching "The Governor" on Ebony Life TV (dstv 165), then sorry to say you have been missing.

Although I didn't get to watch it from the first episode, I only started watching it about three episodes into it,but then, I still get the whole gist of the matter. I'll tell you a little bit about this soap and why I'm addicted to it.

The Governor is a soap about Savanah State, governed by a lady (Angela Ochello), who happens to be the daughter of a political big wig. Her appointment as a Governor, came as a result of the deadth of the former Governor while still in office, and by virtue of her father's political influence and power in the party, she was sworn in to take over as the first female Governor of  the state.

We all know being a Governor is a tough job any where in an African society, talk less of being a female in that field mostly dominated by men. Angela Ochello played by the beautiful, smart and classy Caroline Chikezie, is the Governor faced with so many challenges including an impeachment by her party members simply because she would not give in to their outrageous and insensitive demands from the state purse irrespective of the fact that her agenda is a positive one for the state in general. This has also threatened her father's(Played byTaiwo Obileye) position in the party.

In this soap, Angella Ochello is married to David Ochello played by Veteran Actor Bimbo Manuels, and they have two children together.

I love the fact that each individual in this soap has a major character to play. It shows the struggles we dont get to see  not only in the life of the Governor, but in the life of their children and family as well. The kids part in the soap, can e be adapted into another soap on its own, every teen can relate to what is going on in the life of the Governor's children.

How can I talk about The Governor, and not mention Henry? It is impossible. Henry played by Lord Frank (the name might not ring a bell, but google him and his face will ring a thousand bells), is the handsome man, with the rich voice attached to The Governor as her Chief-Of-Staff. He plays his role so well, you would begin to think, he has been in that position before in real life.

I loved the choice of houses and set props used in this soap, and the fact that all the Actors dressed appropriately to fit their roles, no loud makeup on the females, and infact in some cases no make up at all when there is no need for it. Unlike some other soap and movies(naija) where you see fully dressed women with high heels in the house lounging and makeup first thing in the morning straight out of bed. Although Angella Ochello's wadrobe can be stepped up a little bit more, meaning, she should play with local fabrics designed into corporate and traditional styles, and the hair style can also be changed to give her a more matured look.Although all that depends on if she survives the upcoming impeachment in the next episode. By the way, I'm hitching to watch the next episode.

I will advice that this Soap is not for everyone, it is for a matured mind who knows how to relax and watch a good TV Soap, this Soap takes you back to the days of Checkmate. So if you belong to the new Nollywood that likes movies without depth and direction, then you may need to pass on The Governor, but if you are a sucker for great TV entertainment, then this is for you.

So tell me have you been watching The Governor? Or am I the only one watching it? Who are your favorite acts in this Soap? I've got three, though for different reasons and in this order, Henry, Angela and Francis. Over to you guys!

Have a great weekend!

News Alert: The Senate President of Nigeria (Bukola Saraki) Takes Buy-Made-In-Nigeria Campaign to Manufacturers.

According to the Facebook page of Mr Bamikole Omishore, Senior Special Assistant to The Senate President of Nigerian on New Media and Advocacy,  states that in furtherance to resolve and promote Made in Nigeria products as one way out of the economic recession, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki on Monday assured the nation's manufacturers that the National Assembly would do all it takes to ensure maximum patronage for their goods and services by government agencies and Nigerians alike.

According to Dr Saraki who spoke while receiving the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr Frank Udemba Jacobs, who led other members of the executives of the group on a visit to his office in Abuja, the Senate will not rest until the country overcomes her present economic hardship occassioned by the recession.

He said apart from the Public Procurement Act which has been amended by the Senate to drastically reduce the time wasted in the process of procurement and award of contracts by the Federal Government, the Senate has also amended the Railway Act and made provision for private investment in the Sector.

He added that the National Assembly will continue to enact relevant legislation to fast-track the diversification of the economy by the executives as well as to ensure stability in government economic policies.

The Huggies Diaper or the Molfix Diaper? Read blog visitor's review and experience on both brands.

Mummies, get in here quickly!!!!

Continue from screen grab below;

Please note that this is after I drove all the way from Lekki to the mainland in the hope of getting a cheaper deal o! You should have seen my excitement like the diaper was never going to finish. It just seemed so much easier to pay almost N5k than to bring out almost N15k at once!

To my greatest dismay, the diapers finished in no time even with all my diaper change restrictions! Anyway, off we go to the store for another round of purchase and now its 300 bucks more only after a few weeks! What!!!!!!! Now I'm soooo pissed off and complain about how this is just not right bla bla bla!

The shop attendant then says that thing we all hate to hear even though we know its the truth "its dollar nauw". I'm like yeah whatever the dollar rate is the perfect excuse for everything these days even daylight robbery!

As I looked round the store in frustration, I noticed a different brand of diapers called molfix. I enquired about it and the girl said it was good. Although I wasn't sold on the product it kinda ticked all the right boxes. Price was much cheaper, quantity was even more than my regular huggies and it was made in Germany so I thought how bad can it really be! Then to justify my cheapskate behaviour I started singing about how huggies is overrated sef bla bla bla.

I paid for the diaper with so much glee thinking I had got such a fantastic deal again and left the store.

Mistake of life!!!!!!!!

This diaper is definitely NOT huggies and not even half as good! It is so light which means you have more diaper changes than you do with huggies!

Long story short, I regret buying this product and I wish I stuck with my reliable huggies. Now I have to go back and buy the huggies I was running away from. Classic case of penny wise pound foolish!

Morale of my story is that in these difficult times we will be tempted to buy cheaper brands so we can save as much as we can but the reality is that we may end up spending more because we end up with a product which isn't as good as we thought.

In the end, if its not Panadol, its not the same thing as Panadol!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Dear writer, thanks for sending in your review. We appreciate this on thebrandroombyabi. My advice to you would be, considering the present economy, you might want to consider the Molfix Diaper again in the nearest future when  you start potty training your baby.

That was the exact time I tried the Molfix Diaper for my baby and it was okay.  Basically, because my baby was not totally dependent on doing number 1 or 2 in her diaper since she was getting rewarded for using a potty, meaning the diaper never gets full.

But I totally get you, the Molfix Brand is not the same with Huggies Brand. I have seen a couple of people complain about leakage from their Molfix diaper despite buying the right size and fit for their baby.

In conclusion, if you are that person that would not compromise on quality irrespective of the economy, do not bother trying the brand you don't know. Kindly stick to your preferred choice.

Look What I found today !!!! I.C.E.C.R.E.A.M.

DIA ICECREAM

Hey guys, how are you all doing? Its Friday!!! Yaaaayyy!!! Just wanted you all to know about my latest discovery in the city of Lagos. Today I went to make my hair somewhere around Yaba, and needed to use the ATM on University Road, then I came across this supermarket with a Heritage Bank ATM positioned in one corner of it. The exterior of the supermarket looked okay, so I went in to get a bottle of drink plus something to munch on while I sit and make my hair. While perusing the supermarket looking for their fridge, I stumbled on their freezer section, where they had all sorts of things, Suddenly my eyes came in contact with the Ice-cream freezer, where I saw different variety of Ice-cream, In my mind I was like get thee behind me devil, this Ice-cream  will be expensive as usual, but at a closer look, I was wrong, They were all selling for N700. N700 ke? Unbelievable! I called upon a staff to verify which one exactly goes for N700, in my mind I knew it had to be the popsicle, but the attendant confirmed again that  all the Dia Ice-cream were N700.

All the worms in my tummy started dancing azonto! Now I was confused, because I had not tried any of their Ice-Cream before neither I have been in this store or heard about this store before. So I made up my mind to go with the Dia Minis, since it had four different Variety in it. Got to the check out counter, made the payment, and hurriedly dashed out into the car to taste this my new discovery.  I opened it and Voila there were 8 mini Ice-cream in the box, Oh my Goodness!!! I started with the vanilla flavour, then the chocolate, then the peanut chocolate, then remembered that as a good mum that I am, the Kids should have some too. I packed the remaining back into the box to take home for the kids,

My Judgement
For the price, it taste nice.  Do not go and buy it and be thinking you would have that same feeling of eating a Magnum Ice-cream ooo, They donot belong in the same creamy category, but trust me, its a very good buy and the kids loved it too. And I will be back there tomorrow to try the cone icecream.

If you have a good deep freezer, that performs wonders even when NEPA decides to strike for days, you can always stock up on this Ice-Cream for your kids. Because N700 gets you 8 minis in a pack.

Before I forget, the name of the supermarket is Citydia, and I heard its their product and they have branches around Lagos.

I guess they need to do more advert because I doubt if people really know about them.

Review of the AFK 3 in 1 Toaster

I know you all are wondering, which product is AFK. We know Kenwood, Binatone, Samsung, e.t.c, So which one is AFK?  AFK Germany are  makers of home appliances in Germany, most people who live in Europe knows AFK very well, just like we know Samsung and Kenwood over here. Some times if you are lucky, you will find their products randomly in local electronic stores over here or better still at West Minister in Apapa, where you find a combination of new and used European products.

Today's review is on the AFK 3 in 1 Toaster, this is one of the best home appliance I'm loving at the moment. It is portable, lightweight, easy to clean and very durable. By now you are asking, what is the fuss about an ordinary toaster, after all, all toaster pop out nice toast. Listen this particular toaster functions as a toaster, waffle maker , sausage grill, fish grill, etc, depending on what you want to grill and the size.

The AFK toaster comes with 3 different interchangeable trays, which are the Toast Tray, Waffle Tray and Grill Tray.  For your bread, the toast comes out fresh, soft and crispy at the same time. The Waffle tray is another thing entirely, it bakes the best waffle ever. Your Waffle comes out well baked, and it can bake from cream to golden brown, depending on how you like your waffle. The Grill Tray is perfect for family use, It relieves the stress of having to use your oven or a barbecue grill, or even your frying pan, to make a couple of hot-dogs for your family.

If you live in Nigeria or abroad, you can always get this beautiful 3 in 1 toaster on Amazon, and its very affordable for the kind of thing it does.

Wed Expo 2016 - The Vendor's Experience !

CANDY TOWN
Wed Expo is a wedding exhibition hosted by a team of experts headed by Mr. Akin Esho. This edition was a little bit different from what exhibitors were used to,this time the organizers went a step further to introduce the Baby Show. The introduction of the Baby Show is to create a one stop shop for brides- to- be, and mums- to- be, helping them source essential products they need from becoming a bride, to becoming a mum, all under one roof at discounted prices.

Despite the heavy rainfall  and the bad traffic within Lagos Metropolis, Brides and other shoppers alike could not afford to miss this huge exhibition.

Thebrandroombyabi was live at the day 2 of the Wed Expo Lagos Exhibition and we had a great time talking to Vendors who exhibited their products and services at the event.

The exhibition had diverse Vendors on ground, ranging from Jewellers,Skin Care Product-Manufacturers ,Photographers, Djs,Confectioniers,Bakers,Event Planners,Caterers, Hair Specialist,Aso-Oke Makers,Event Decorators,Make-Up Artiste, Wedding Gowns Designers, and a couple of Baby Stores, to mention a few.

The Vendors we spoke to such as Eco Pantry, Semsey Crea8ion,Victoria Treats,DJ Weymo,Abinibi Photographer, Golden Events,Wedding Box Office,Cake Fondation, Events by Bankysu,Threads and Colours and Greetings World , were all of the opinion that the Wed Expo is a great event, an avenue for would be brides to meet various Vendors that will make their big day a memorable one. They had positive feed back on the day 2 of the exhibiton, and majority of them mentioned that they have had the opportunity to meet potential clients through the exhibition and also to know what is new in their various fields as the competition between the Vendors continue to increase.

Some returning Vendors such as PawPrint, Stasias Virgin hair, Miss Lax, Casa Hair Limited, were all of the opinion that the last edition was way better than this edition not in terms of planning, but in terms of patronage and sales. Most of the returning Vendors blamed this on  two things, which are the heavy down pour and the economic situation of the country . They laid claim to the fact that the exchange rate has not been favourable and thus the reason for the low turn out of people in comparison to previous edition.

Thebrandroombyabi, was able to speak to one of the three Baby Show Vendors, Anais Kale who by the way had lovely made in Nigeria baby products on display at their stand. For them, it was their first outing at the Wed Expo and they are hoping that the next Wed Expo would have special focus on Baby Show Vendors and not just the Bridal Exhibitors.

One exhibitor stood out for us at the event, while every other exhibitor was either into photography, bridal outfit or Catering, Gage and Wraps stood out as the only exhibitor doing something very different from the norm, They are into packaging of the Eru Iyawo (The Bride Price and the Bride's gift). If you are from the yoruba culture, you would have a clear understanding of what this means. They pack all the bride's gift for the groom's family in specialized and customized boxes. They also have special boxes for the packaging of the dowry. For us, this was unique and it stood out because we have seen people tie ribbons on yams and fruits in beautiful baskets, but never knew it could come in gorgeous packaging like this one.

Another exhibitor we liked, is PawPrint, they had beautiful Aso-Oke on display and a model to showcase their complete bridal Aso-Oke Outfit. Their signature brand Blingshiki was also on display. Remember PawPrint featured on our first Wednesday Brand Profiling. If you missed it, click  here.

By the way, all the exhibitors are giving away a special Wed Expo discount to Would-be-brides, so if you have not visited the exhibition venue since day one, today is the last day of the lagos edition, and it will be nice for you to pop in and meet various Vendors. Not only that, there will be a raffle draw today and one lucky bride will win an all expense paid wedding courtesy of the Wed Expo Team, so dont miss it.
.
The exhibition is taking place at the Haven Event, G.R.A Ikeja,Lagos. If you are a Bridal Vendor and want to be a part of the next Wed Expo, please call the organizers on 08096448289 for more information on how you can be part of the next exhibition.

Below are  some pictures of products exhibited at the day two of the Lagos Edition of the Wed Expo which held on the 10th of September 2016. Enjoy!
